[Spam for the Engine Room + Level Eight]

[Trip hasn't necessarily been avoiding Felix since they got back from port, but he's certainly giving him space, which is why he's been careful to avoid hanging around the engine room while he's scheduled to be there. Apart from that, though, doing some work down there on trying to figure out how exactly this ship ran and what they could to to keep it running was a pretty good distraction from feeling like he'd made the biggest mistake of his life agreeing to come here.

So he's become a relatively common sight entering and leaving the engine room, occasionally covered in grease or grime or dust, and he works quietly if anyone else isn't interested in conversation, or engages more or less enthusiastically if the rest of the staff's willing not to be intolerable to talk with.]

[Private to Felix, after this thread.]

Dean told me what happened. You alright?

Where did my letters go?

Eventually? Less Taelons to deplete it. Without having to run the stasis chambers, it could operate itself. The mothership was dedicated to maintaining her pilots, whoever was at the helm.

[He squints as he thinks about it.] She was bombed prior to me coming here. I believe she could have healed from it, though, once she was sustaining herself.

I hope they give you gas and you poot words.

[He shakes his head.] No, that was the death that brought me here. But she took a direct darkmatter hit. I suspect she will be fine.

[He actually hopes so. He hated the Taelons, but not her.]

Because I am a supervillain.

[He thinks about that for a moment.]

I don't really have much to go back to. My wife is... well, we'll never reconcile, my birthplace is gone, and the aliens that tried to take over the world are functionally extinct.

I'm not sure what I want to do with myself.

[He's pretty sure he doesn't want to be as indifferent as his warden used to be, though.]
